Clyde helped me figure out screen record using the game bar- a very kind D teammate alerted me that questions are more easily answered if not only your code is posted, but if there’s also a screen recording of your movement related issues. I followed his GameBar suggestion for Windows and it works as long I’m in Play Mode- problem solved! There’s also OBS that he and many other team D-mates have mentioned using, which I will download and get running after I finish my “real” work today lol. Joanne was able to help me debug and I learned that my laser code was overriding my player code. The funny thing is that although I did not physically copy and paste code in my challenge, I mentally copied and pasted the code- I wrote it without fully understanding what I was doing…furthermore, I didn’t test that code in player mode before moving on… This is Kristin. Don’t be like Kristin.
I will never rush through code again. Lesson learned. Just like houses, makeup and pizza, it’s important to get a good foundation before moving on. I was so caught up in quickly finishing that I sacrificed my work. Preventative > corrective. I will also devote my after hours to getting that C# tutorial done. It will only help me to get better at debugging.
I was finally able to finish the Shooting section with the help of Dan- it’s going to be another late night. In my mind, I *need* to finish the enemies section by tomorrow…I just have to.😐
Stay well friends. Work hard, but rest and get a full night’s sleep. Don’t be like me. 😑
