(This is a late post from 12/26/20) Today I continued working on my other 2D Phase II enemies- the Smart Enemy (the one that senses the player is close behind and shoots backward) and the Aggressive Enemy (the one that tries to ram the player when close-decided not to use a laser for this one). I also worked on the logic for the 1) balanced spawning and 2) the logic for the wave system (having the spawn manager increases that amount of spawns as the run time of game increases), and also 3) fixing the heat seeking element on Twinemy’s code and 4) the Enemy pickup. For some reason, the balanced spawning’s logic, I’m a bit unsure if using an array is the best idea. It does seem like it is. When things started to get a little fuzzy, I switch off working on other Phase II components to give my mind a break.

It’s so crazy to think back at everything we accomplished as a team. Since Congress is uniting and coming together to compromise and create a Cares Act that everyone can at least agree on, I hope it passes as soon as possible so that the state can have the resources to give every consideration to keeping this program alive and well for 2021. If we can achieve this now, just think of what we could do with more training…the sky’s the limit. It’s cool also that gamedev aci participants already have ideas on how we can use what we’ve learned to help local businesses who are having tech issues from the pandemic- I do hope we can all work together to create solution and lasting positive impact.

Positive Affirmation: Coding C# and Unity come so easily and effortlessly to me, that I can understand it quickly, teach it to anyone and create anything I want. I think of new, fun, creative, expressive, unique ideas easily and am inspired by the universe. I easily and enjoyably get into flow state when coding. Coding is fun, relaxing and extremely enjoyable for me.

Stay well friends,

Kristin
